Reducing Violence in Media and Video Games

Unnecessary and unwarranted portrayals of violence in media and video games has been a problem for decades.   The conclusion that exposure to violent portrayals poses a risk of harmful effect on children has been reached by the Surgeon General, The National Institutes of Mental Health, the National Academy of Sciences, The American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

·         I would strongly support laws that regulate and reduce violence on TV during children’s viewing hours and in video games used by children.
