Healthcare

While campaigning at the Wyoming County Fair, I met a distraught man whose sister, the mother of three children, had cancer. Both she and her husband had lost their good-paying jobs with health insurance and were working at retail outlets that provided no health insurance.  This is unacceptable in America. All families and lives are equally sacred and valuable.

The number of Americans currently living without access to affordable health care is unacceptably high and it will only be increasing under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Bill

The wealthiest people in our country have a life expectancy nearly 15 years longer than our poorest citizens

  • I support a system of universal health care that insures open, healthy competition, an individual’s choice of providers and hospitals, and a means-tested payment of a portion of the cost above the poverty level.
